Kerry was a founding director and Director of The Education Group for 15 years. In 2019, ill health meant that she needed a break to fully recover. Kerry is now back to full health and excited to be working as a Consultant for The Education Group. Kerry has a strong loyalty to the Education Group and brings a wealth of knowledge and skills to her new role.
Kerry has spent many years in the education sector as teacher, Principal, consultant and researcher. She has worked in a wide range of state and integrated schools, across all the sectors. She has worked with boards, principals, senior leaders, team leaders and teachers. She has extensive experience in coaching and mentoring, setting up and undertaking school reviews and investigations, training appraisers and conducting principal and senior leader appraisals.
Kerry has been involved in major research projects on behalf of the Ministry of Education including The Ngāue Fakataha ki he Ako ‘a e Fānau research and development project which was initiated by the Ministry of Education to help increase understanding of Pasifika parents’ relationships with schools and teachers regarding their children’s learning, progress and achievement.
Kerry has also led the professional development work on behalf of the Teaching Council of Aotearoa, New Zealand for school boards, Principals and teachers to support effective and robust appraisal processes that focus on both accountability and professional growth.
In recent years Kerry has worked closely with a number of Kahui Ako to set up and implement professional development plans that have resulted in raised achievement. She has strong interests in coaching, mentoring, leadership development and in supporting colleagues at all stages in their careers.
