The Role:

As Principal, you will be the lead professional and operational manager of Paihia School, reporting directly to the Board of Trustees. You will be responsible for providing outstanding educational leadership, ensuring the effective day-to-day operation of the school, and fostering strong relationships within our school and wider community.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess:

  • Proven leadership experience in a New Zealand full primary school setting.
  • A deep understanding of the New Zealand Curriculum and current educational best practices.
  • Strong pedagogical knowledge and a commitment to student-centred learning.
  • Demonstrated ability to inspire and lead a diverse team.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
  • The ability to honour Te Ao Māori and use culturally responsive practices.
  • Sound financial acumen and proven experience in school management.
  • The ability to manage conflict effectively and find solutions.
  • A current New Zealand practising teacher certificate.
