St Michael’s Catholic School is a vibrant, inclusive, faith-based school for students in Years 0 to 6, situated adjacent to St Michael's Church in Remuera, Auckland. Our highly respected principal is leaving us after eight years of dedicated and community focused leadership. We are seeking a special candidate to embrace our faith-based community to balance tradition with innovation and to provide a clear vision for the future.

Our students are motivated and engaged learners and encouraged to make the most of all learning opportunities. We have a supportive community and Board, and dedicated staff who go ‘above and beyond’ for our students.

  • Ensure effective teaching of our curriculum that provides multiple opportunities to develop the skills and talents of our students
  • Be an effective communicator and inspirational leader who builds trust and creates clear expectations of students and staff
  • Demonstrate a commitment to Te Ao Māori and models culturally responsive practice
  • Demonstrate experience in meeting legislative requirements in the areas of finance, personnel, property and health and safety

Condition of Appointment. Our new Principal will have a willingness and ability to take part in the religious instruction appropriate to the special character of the school. The appointee will be required to accept and recognise the responsibility to maintain and preserve the special character of the school.
