Kerry Mitchell

Kerry is a founding director of The Education Group and currently a consultant and researcher for The Education Group. Prior to being a founding director, she was employed by Massey University as a consultant and researcher, based at the Albany campus.
Kerry has spent many years in the education sector as teacher, Principal, consultant, and researcher. She has worked in a wide range of state, integrated and independent schools, across all the sectors. She has worked with boards, principals, senior leaders, team leaders and teachers. She has extensive experience in coaching and mentoring, setting up and undertaking school reviews and investigations and conducting principal and senior leader performance reviews.
Kerry has led national research and evaluation projects on behalf of the Ministry of Education. She has also directed and led professional development work on behalf of the Teaching Council of Aotearoa for school boards, principals, and teachers to support effective and robust performance review processes that focus on both accountability and professional growth.
In recent years Kerry has worked closely with Kāhui Ako to set up and implement professional development plans that have resulted in raised achievement. She has strong expertise and interest in coaching, mentoring, leadership development and in supporting colleagues at all stages in their careers.
