Sandra Titchener
Structured Literacy Partner
Sandra Titchener has taught in both primary, intermediate and secondary levels of schools both in New Zealand and overseas. She has a Bachelor of Education from Massey University, gaining distinction as a Massey Scholar. Sandra has completed her Diploma in Professional Children’s Writing, and as the Product Development Manager of Smart Kids became co-author of the award-winning ‘Smart Phonics’ literacy resource. With Kate, she ran Chunk, Check, Cheer professional development workshops across the country from 2001 to 2012. In 2014 Sandra received a New Zealand Spelling Bee Teacher Award for delivering a programme and initiative that instils a love of language in students. Sandra has worked as a literacy teacher with adult learners as well as holding roles as a Supplementary Learning Support Teacher, ORS teacher and Resource Teacher of Literacy. She is currently employed full time as a Specialist Literacy Teacher for Years 7-10 students in a secondary school in New Plymouth.
