The Board of Trustees is seeking an experienced and inspiring educational leader to guide Kaukapakapa School into its next chapter.
Nestled in the scenic Rodney District, just 20 minutes from Silverdale, Kaukapakapa School is a thriving full primary (Years 1–8) with around 300 students. Our kura blends the strengths of a well-resourced, future-focused school with the warmth of a close-knit, semi-rural community. We are proud of our long history, strong local iwi partnerships, and a school culture grounded in our core values: Whakaute (Respect), Atawhai (Kindness), Whakapau kaha (Effort), Tutuki (Excellence), and Tūturu (Honesty).
We are looking for a principal who is not only strategic and future-focused, but who leads with heart — someone who is visible, authentic, and committed to empowering others. You will:
- Champion equity, wellbeing and high expectations for all learners
- Be a warm, visible and honest presence – trusted by staff, students, and community
- Bring strength in curriculum leadership, especially in literacy, numeracy and culturally responsive practice
- Understand how to lead with humility, clarity, and fairness, building a collaborative and empowered team
- Live and lead a commitment to te Tiriti o Waitangi and strong iwi relationships
- Enjoy being in classrooms and the playground as much as the boardroom
At Kaukapakapa, every learner is known, valued and supported to achieve their personal best. If you are ready to lead a kura that is rich in culture, community, and potential, we would love to hear from you.
