Waipipi School is a vibrant, inclusive and high-achieving full primary rural school with a current roll size of 120 students. We are situated approximately 8 km from Waiuku and 35km from the motorway at Drury. We are seeking an exceptional leader to guide our school towards future success while upholding our strong foundations.
As Principal, you will lead a dedicated team of educators, ensuring students reach their full potential. You will nurture a community that values high academic standards, inclusive education and strong relationships with staff, students and whānau.
Key Responsibilities:
- Inspire and lead a team to promote high standards of academic achievement, behaviour, and personal growth.
- Foster strong connections with whānau and the local community.
- Lead with vision, empathy and integrity, honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangi and the school’s rural identity.
- Ensure inclusive and innovative teaching practices, with a focus on high expectations for all learners.
- Build trust and transparency through effective communication
- Manage school operations to support student learning and staff wellbeing.
- Will work closely with the Board to support the school’s governance decisions and future direction.
We are looking for a Principal who:

- Is visionary, motivated, and capable of fostering a high-performance culture.
- Leads with empathy, supporting the growth and wellbeing of staff and students.
- Has extensive knowledge of the New Zealand Curriculum, strong pedagogical practices and experience in educational leadership.
- Can manage change while maintaining the school’s traditions and high standards.
