Blockhouse Bay Primary School
Lead with warmth, purpose and a commitment to every learner.
Blockhouse Bay Primary School seeks an exceptional educational leader to build on our welcoming culture, strong relationships and rich cultural diversity. Our community values a school where every child is known, included and supported to thrive.
We are looking for a visible, approachable principal who will take time to understand our school, honour its strengths and work collaboratively to shape its future.
Our next principal will:
- Lead people with integrity and care, building trusting relationships with children, staff, parents and whānau. You will listen, communicate clearly, value staff expertise and wellbeing.
- Inspire excellence in teaching and learning, bringing strong primary curriculum knowledge, high expectations and a commitment to our He Manu Rere learner profile. You will use evidence to strengthen progress, support and extension, while sustaining a broad, engaging curriculum.
- Champion inclusion and belonging, responding effectively to the strengths and needs of our diverse learners, including English language learners, neurodiverse children and those requiring additional support.
- Demonstrate commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, strengthening partnerships with Māori whānau and mana whenua, embedding te reo Māori and tikanga Māori, and advancing Māori learner success.
- Provide sound strategic and operational leadership, working with the Board to manage finances, staffing and property effectively, and ensuring resources support learning and wellbeing.
You will bring calm judgement, empathy, humility and a sense of humour, alongside the confidence to lead thoughtful, well-paced improvement.
If you are a relational leader who combines educational expertise with a strong commitment to children and community, we welcome your application.
