STRATEGIC PLAN
The Role
Deputy Principal, Senior School (Years 4-8) 5MU
Churchill Park School is seeking an experienced, capable and relational Deputy Principal to join its Senior Leadership Team and lead the Senior School.
This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and collaborative leader who brings sound professional judgement, integrity and a solutions-focused approach. The successful applicant will contribute to the school’s targets, values and Annual Plan, support effective day-to-day leadership and be ready to deputise for the Principal when required.
We are looking for an excellent teacher and curriculum leader who sets high expectations, models strong practice and can lead the development of the curriculum. Expertise in Mathematics and Statistics, or another agreed area, is welcomed. You will strengthen assessment for learning, lead school-wide assessment and reporting processes, and help teachers use evidence to set targets and improve outcomes.
You will lead professional learning, collaborative inquiry and Professional Growth Cycles through coaching, mentoring, observation, constructive feedback and professional conversations. You will develop other leaders, support specialist teams and provide responsive induction for new staff and provisionally certificated teachers.
A commitment to learner wellbeing, restorative practice, inclusion, Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice is essential. You will build respectful partnerships with learners, staff, parents, whānau, the Board and community organisations, while contributing to student leadership and the wider life of the school.
The role also requires strong organisation, digital fluency and oversight of operational systems, health and safety, senior-school camps, risk management, and the pastoral and compliance requirements for international learners.
In return, Churchill Park School offers a positive and vibrant working environment, a supportive leadership team and Board, and opportunities to grow your leadership. If you are ready for your new challenge, we welcome your application. Visits are encouraged. Please see page 8 of the Application Pack to arrange.
