Conifer Grove School seeks an exceptional Deputy Principal – Curriculum from Term 3, 2026. This is an exciting opportunity for a relational leader to contribute to a high-trust kura committed to continuous improvement and strong learner outcomes.

Situated on the Paahurehure Inlet, our full primary school (Years 0–8, roll ~575) delivers a conceptually driven curriculum grounded in literacy and numeracy, while valuing the cultural strengths learners bring to their journey. We are proud of our partnerships with mana whenua, Te Aakitai, and our strong sense of belonging.

Position commences Term 3: Monday 3 August 2026, or earlier by negotiation.

We're Seeking

We seek a leader who combines pedagogical expertise with relational strength. Working alongside the Principal, you will lead the development of teaching and learning, ensuring a clear line of sight between strategic priorities and classroom practice. You will build leadership capability, empowering others through coaching and purposeful change leadership.

About You

The successful applicant will:

  • Lead evidence-based curriculum development, particularly in literacy and numeracy
  • Use student data to evaluate impact and improve outcomes for all learners
  • Build leadership capability through coaching, mentoring, and collaborative practice
  • Actively contribute to operational leadership, ensuring daily routines and systems reflect our core values.
  •  Lead change with clarity and ensure consistent, high-quality classroom practice.
  • Foster a culture of trust, care, and high professional expectations
  • Build strong, authentic partnerships with staff, aakonga, and whaanau
  • Model culturally responsive practice and uphold our values of Whakamiha, Mana Motuhake, and Manaaki
