Located in Howick, East Auckland, Owairoa is a vibrant Year 0–6 primary school with an experienced, dedicated team. Our strong family ethos, valued traditions and diverse community provide the foundations for an exciting new era of leadership in 2027.

We seek a visible, approachable Principal who will bring innovation and creativity whilst honouring our proud legacy. You will champion our RISE values of Respect, Integrity, Self-Esteem and Excellence, and build strong partnerships with students, staff, parents, whānau and the wider community.

Our new Principal will:

• Set high expectations for achievement, ensuring every learner is valued, supported and appropriately challenged
• Bring strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge, support excellent teaching and prioritise ongoing staff professional learning
• Lead a cohesive leadership team and foster a positive, collaborative, high-performing school culture
• Value a broad curriculum, learning beyond the classroom and our established international student programme
• Demonstrate a deep understanding of Aotearoa New Zealand’s bicultural heritage and responsibilities
• Effectively manage finances, property, people and school operations

You will be supported by a committed School Board and an engaged parent community.
