The Role

Three Kings School is looking for an exceptional educational leader to help write the next chapter of our school.

Established in 1878, we are Auckland’s oldest school still operating on its original site. Today, we are a thriving and culturally diverse school for Years 1 - 6, with a strong academic foundation, a rich range of learning experiences and a community where children are known, valued and encouraged to participate, contribute and shine.

As we look ahead to our 150th anniversary in 2028, we are seeking a principal who can honour what is special about Three Kings School while confidently shaping what comes next.

Our new principal will be an outstanding leader of learning and people, who is visible, warm and approachable, with high expectations for teaching and student achievement. They will bring strategic clarity, sound judgement and the ability to lead change thoughtfully, while developing others and nurturing the collaborative and supportive culture that our staff, students and whānau value.

They will champion and embrace the diversity of our community, honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi and strengthen culturally responsive practice and meaningful partnerships with Māori whānau and mana whenua.

We are looking for someone who believes that strong foundations matter, but that a great primary education is also about creativity, curiosity, sport, the arts, wellbeing, belonging and experiences beyond the classroom. They will give every child the opportunity to discover their strengths, grow in confidence and achieve their potential.  

Our new principal will lead with integrity, kindness, courage and humility. With positive energy, openness and a sense of humour, they will bring people together and create a clear sense of direction for the future.
