This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-performing, well-loved kura in the heart of a vibrant island community. Our much-valued Principal has moved to an exciting new role, and we are looking for a leader to confidently take our school into its next chapter.
Surrounded by nature on Waiheke Island, our Years 1–8 school is known for its strong relationships, inclusive culture and commitment to developing confident, capable ākonga who care for their place and each other.
Waiheke Primary has a stable roll, experienced staff, supportive whānau and an engaged Board. We are looking for a Principal to shape our emerging strategic direction, strengthen culturally responsive practice, and lift student achievement through high-quality teaching and learning.
This role calls for a leader who thrives in a connected community— visible, relational and deeply committed to people.

We are Seeking a Principal to
- Lead with strong relational practice, building trust and a positive, inclusive school culture
- Drive excellence in teaching and learning, particularly in literacy and numeracy, within a rich and engaging curriculum
- Ensure equity and inclusion are at the centre, with strong systems for supporting diverse ākonga
- Uphold Te Tiriti o Waitangi in action, strengthening partnerships with mana whenua and embedding te reo me ōna tikanga
- Provide clear, strategic leadership and prudently manage resources
