Structured Literacy Partner

Kate is an experienced educator with strengths and expertise in literacy, assessment, coaching and professional learning for adult educators. Her work is underpinned by her classroom practice, having taught in the primary, secondary and tertiary sectors. Kate has a passion for learning and believes the best way to nurture and support the learning and professional growth of others is through authentic partnerships built on trust, collaboration and a sound evidence-based evaluative inquiry approach.

She developed the Chunk, Check Cheer literacy strategy and approach as part of her M.Ed., developing it in the classroom alongside her colleague Sandra Titchener.

She was a literacy facilitator for Learning Media for seven years and a Visible Learning consultant at Cognition Education Ltd for 10 years.

With Emeritus Professor John Hattie she co-authored ‘Visible Learning into Action: International Case Studies of Impact’ (2015)
